    Greetings,

I second this, and further it with that the carousel should have a way to stop it or have a way to navigate through the slides.

The carousel on our website uses the highlighted buttons for navigation.

I'm working on this feature for the next release. I wanted to get some feedback.

Right now I have it so that the island stops rotating when you hover your mouse over it. This now allows you to read the island and scroll if the content doesn't fit on the island.

How important is the navigation buttons, or would the automatic stopping satisfy your needs?

For me, it would be quite an important feature because I would like to make a carousel island the focal point of my index/welcome/home page.

Although I would like to limit the number of images to around 5, I could see where requests to add additional images would come from multiple areas/staff.

I would still limit the number of items in any given carousel; however, not having a navigation feature will turn off a lot of my 'average' users because they will not want to wait for it to come around again if they just missed clicking on the image link they wanted to get to.

    Hope that helps.

I agree it would be annoying if you just barely missed it. It does seem there is an easy way to put in forward/backwards buttons.

I would be great to have a stopper or forward/backwards buttons on the carousel island.  I currently have my islands set to a 10 second rotation because users were not able to read everything.

I do see that in the Rotator Island, the RadRotator has a PauseOnMouseOver property that is defaulted to false.  If you set it to true, it does pause; however, this is a global change so I don't know how important it would be to have each rotator in your portal either be allowed to be stopped on hover or not?

At this point, I feel that the global change would be ok as in, all my rotators should stop on hover.

I'll just go ahead and throw in my two cents, since this came to me today from our CEO. We would like for there to be some way to control the carousel so you can go back/forward instead of waiting for the content you're looking for to rotate through again. I think we would also find more use in a visible pause/play button instead of pausing onMouseOver as that's not intuitive for a lot of users.

    Hi All!

Great news! Everything you are asking for (except pause button) will be included in OnSemble 6.0!! Give your CSM/TS a call or email us to get a sneak peek! For now, here are some of the new options...

The difference between normal with button and slideshow with buttons is that the slideshow will continue to flip between images, profiles, dashboard visualizations off the timer. Normal with buttons will not shuffle through whatever contents have been uploaded but the content can be navigated by using the scroll buttons.

Hope you all are as excited as we are regarding these new features!
