In just a few days from now, November starts - and that means one big thing for the associate's at Belco.

    THE RETURN OF THE TURKEY!

Every November, the Belco Turkey makes a grand entrance popping up a random locations and at random times all over the Passageways banner - just peeking over the bottom to see what is going on.

At the beginning of the month, he is fast and agile - only staying up for a few seconds before hiding away again but, as it gets closer and closer to Thanksgiving, he starts getting plump and slower.

If you have the dexterity to catch the Turkey and click on him, you are directed to a Passageways page where you can post your thanks and appreciation with all of your fellow associates and share in the spirit of the holiday.

This has become quite the Belco tradition and 2016 will mark the 4th year that he has shown up. Every year I still receive a lot of great feedback from associates whom forgot he would be making an appearance again and are very excited to see him pop his head up to say hello!

We run our United Way fundraising campaign every fall, and by far the most-loved activity is the silent auction. In fact, this year we had two auctions. We'd never be able to run it without the Auction module! We also used a Dashboard to track our progress. (The actual 2016 auction is closed, so I had to use a copy of it for my screenshot)

I will update on 10/31 with our finale, but for now here is what we have been doing this past week:

We have been swapping out our icons in the toolbar with spooky ones and have been having a slow creep of spider webs on our top banner.

Stay tuned for our big reveal...

     UPDATE 10/31/16:

Here is our big reveal-we have full cobwebs in our banner, most icons at the top swapped out, and spiders crawling all over Connect!

We used an iView island and some interactive code our Marketing Dept. found, and with the help of Passageways Support, were able to use the island to have creepy, crawling spiders all over our intranet.

The carousel island on the Home Page also has an animated .gif image.

We recently did a relaunch of our Products and Services page in our Portal "The Den".  We renamed the page to Products & Ownership, and this is the new landing page for it.

We also utilize Dashboards within our Den.  Here is how we show our call volume using the Dashboard Module.

We launched our new Intranet this year with a major focus on making it easier for our teammates to have the resources they need right at their finger tips. Our previous SharePoint intranet was an unending maze of folders upon folders and we really wanted to make something completely different.

This is the top of our landing page with buttons for quick links and drop down menus on the left.

At the bottom of the landing page, we're building a new campaign area each time we launch a new employee sales campaign. Our current campaign area features a help desk to track sales and referrals, a PTE with a screen snip of the email that we sent to members, basic details on the way the campaign works, and then two campaign trackers for the two campaign goals.

Another spot we're really happy with is our FinEd page. We have school branches in two different cities and we get requests from other schools for presentations, One thing our FinEd team has struggled with is keeping everyone informed about what is coming up and what we've done in the community. Having hard numbers can go a long way toward making sure we can keep budgeting to sustain our programs :)

So, we built a page that includes a help desk for presentation requests - which anyone on the staff can use, and a calendar to schedule upcoming events. In addition, to encourage engagement from everyone on the team, we created a FinEd forum which we plugged into an IView Island and featured it prominently on the top of the page.

First City Credit Union Landing Page. I know, that's not part of the criteria. Just wanted to share. Good luck to everybody. They all look good! :)
