Conversations are designed for two-way (or multi-way!) conversation.
Members can start new threads (or conversations) in any conversation they are a member of, but not start a new FORUM.
Members cannot edit or delete any post/reply that is not their own.
Moderators can edit/delete any post or reply anywhere that they are a Moderator.
Moderators also cannot start a new forum.
Portal Admins are not “automatically” members or moderators of any forum or conversation (though can, as always, add themselves!!)
New Forums can only be created by Portal Admins or by users/roles who have been granted the Manage Conversations permission under Module Administrator Security -> Manage Conversations.
In my example below, I am allowing Stacia, who is NOT a Portal Admin, to be a Conversations Admin.
Stacia will now have “Module Tools” in her navigation, with only one item in it: Conversations. This means she will be able to Admin ALL Conversations – something I may want to consider before handing her the keys.
