OS EDU: Making Structure Pages Behave - Part Three - Adding Sections Follow
Adding and Moving Sections
In Part One, we learned how to fire up a Structures page and choose your first Section.
In Part Two, we learned how to manage the look of our Sections.
For now, we are going to learn how to add additional Sections and move those about.. At the bottom of your section, there is a toolbar with five icons.
(If you only have one section, the toolbar is a little smaller with only three icons. We covered that in the previous Guide.)
The first one, the plus sign, adds a new Section. We will cover that below.
The second one, the six dots, allows you to grab that Section and move it above or below other sections. We will cover that below.
The middle one, the slider, opens the Section Properties Panel on the right. We covered that in Part Two.
The fourth one, the eraser, clears the contents of the entire section, and removes all islands. (You probably do not want to do that!)
The fifth one, the trash can, deletes the entire section, all structures, and all contents of those structures. (You probably do not want to do that!)
Adding Sections
If you click the plus sign, the "Select Your Structure" option will appear, just as it does when your start a new page. Simply pick one of the 12 options listed, and it will appear. You can repeat this process as many times as you like.
Moving Sections
Left-Clicking and Holding the six dots will allow you to grab that Section and move it above or below other sections. This is EXTREMELY useful if you need to add or rearrange content on a page! A light blue “Drop Section” will appear for you to target. Just release your mouse and the section will fall into that new spot.
OS Pro Note: You can move sections with or without Islands in them. They’ll move right with the section!
You have completed this Guide!
From here, you should next learn how to Manage Islands.
Or, you can go back and get a refresher on the basics or how to Manage Sections.
