Who can and cannot read/view a document is a common question, especially for new administrators.
Permissions are controlled by User Name, Role, and Workgroup Membership.
- If a User is a member of a Role that can see a document, then the User can see the document in the document repository.
- If a User is a member of a Workgroup than can see a document, then the User can see the document if it is displayed in the Workgroup. They will also be able to see it in the document repository.
- If a User is a viewer of a Document by name, then the User can see the document in the document repository.
As an aside, if a User is an assistant manager of a workgroup, but NOT a member, the User will NOT be able to view the document if they are not a reader by name or by role. (Since they are a manager but NOT a member.)
