Your OnSemble Portal can alert your users when a change has been made to a page. This is a great way to make sure users are getting the most recent information!
Every page in the portal has a "Subscribe" bell icon in the top right corner. If there is a line through the bell, you are not subscribed. Click the bell to change from one to the other.

Once users are subscribed to pages, they will receive alerts when changes are made to the page. This does include adding/removing islands, rearranging islands, and changing PTE content. There are small, often cosmetic things, that will not trigger an alert - changing the page background, or changing an image in the carousel, as a couple examples.
Page Subscription FAQ:
Question: We have a List Island set up so that when items are added or removed from a certain folder, they are also added or removed from the List Island. Will adding or removing items cause an Alert if the User is subscribed to the page the List Island is on?
Answer: No. In this case, we would suggest you have the Users subscribe to the Folder or to the Documents.
Question: My user says she is subscribed, but she is not receiving any alerts!
Answer: In order for Page Subscriptions to Alert your users, they must have their Alerts turned ON. To do this, visit My Settings -> My Preferences - > My Alerts (For more info on Alerts, visit here!)
Question: My user says she is subscribed, and she has her alerts turned on, but she is still not receiving any alerts!
Answer: Is the page in question a Public Page by chance? Is the user a member of the workgroup the Public Page 'lives' in? If not, she won't receive an Alert, as the portal looks for Workgroup Membership. Fortunately, we have a work around.
Find or create a workgroup that the user is a part of (or all users, if you want everyone to be able to subscribe... your Org Wide Workgroup might work great for this!) Make a New Page there, and when selecting the page type, choose URL Page and choose the Public Page from the drop down:
The subscription should work the way you want it to now.
Question: I want to subscribe my users on their behalf. Or subscribe all my users. Can I do that?
Answer: Not easily, but it can be done via SQL Scripts. Check out some of these articles to see if you can find what you are looking for.
