Question: I’m loading pictures on a CAROUSEL island. The image is portrait mode, but when I load them up, they somehow flip to landscape. These are on pictures I took on my cell in portrait mode, the JPGs open in portrait mode, but they load in landscape mode automatically. I have not had any other issues with any other pictures. Any ideas?
Answer: We have seen this a few times before! It has something to do with the internal “coding” of newer cellphone cameras and how identifying information is saved in some digital images. Thankfully, the fix is quick and easy.
You need to open the picture in a dedicated image editing software, rotate the image there, then save and re-upload. We have tried this with basic tools and can report that even using "Paint" works.
Right click and choose Edit with Paint.
Go into "Aspect Ratio"
Click "Aspect Ratio" -> Change to "Landscape" or "Portrait"
Resize or recenter if needed by dragging the photo.
Save it, upload it, and you should be fine!
Many thanks to Ed and the Wheelhouse Team for the question and help with finding an easy tool to use!
