We love Management Blogs and use them in several different departments. Many of our managers are Authors - often of the same Blog. Blogs around here are posted and updated often - at least once a week, sometimes more often in some departments.
Here's the problem - We are only able to see the most recent blog that has been posted. So, if Mary posts today, and Marcy posts tomorrow, Mary's Blog gets "lost" to the archive, even though it was only up for one day!
Is there an easier way for us to show previous posts in the Blog?
There isn't an option to scroll down to past posts. Here’s a good workaround for showing "updates" or "new posts" though:
- Blog Title – Make it more of a range, or newsletter-style… like “Leadership Updates, Week of April 21 – 27”
- Coach Authors to EDIT the existing Blog, rather than start a NEW blog.
- Once a “new” week (or Edition, or whatever..) is posted, the old will go to the archive on the right, and the new will show.
It would end up looking somewhat like this….
Keep in mind that if you are using the full version of blogs the past "archived' posts will show up on the right and you can simply click on the post s/he wants to read. Using the focused version of blogs will not show archived blog links to click. The picture above shows the full version of blogs.
Thanks for your question First Hope and a BIG thanks to Sarah Steele for walking through this with me! As a new CSM this was helpful to me and I'm sure will help many other teams in our Passageways family.
