OS EDU - Dear CSM : These Calendar Tabs - are KILLING me! Follow
Question: I can't even with these calendar tabs! I don't like the colors, and I can't seem to get any kind of consistency with them! Please help!
Answer: I know these feels. I also know it's being worked on, but in the meantime, I have a workaround for you, and maybe some hope!
Thing One : There are Ten Default Colors. They always show up in the SAME order and then repeat. (Color names, if you're curious, are according to Coolors)
- Columbia Blue
- Peachy Orange
- Green Tea
- Bubble Gum
- Pink Lace
- Blonde
- Catalina Blue
- Office Green
- Spanish Carmine
- Dark Magenta
Thing Two: Events will appear alphabetically.
This is my current demo calendar.
Now watch me add an Event called "Amber" - Color order shifts based on Alphabet.
So - how do we get consistency? We use numbers. Let's make Brown Street branch "Columbia Blue" and Main Street Branch "Peachy Orange." Edit the event and add a number.
Thing Three: Chances are good that unless you work somewhere that manufactures Easter Candy, these colors will not be consistent with your branding.
- Someone on your team with with Server Access needs to be involved
- They need your "new" Ten colors in Hex Code form (for example, #990099 is Dark Magenta)
- The order you want them in
- If the font for each Tab should be black or white - In the Default, the first five tabs are black font, last four are white font, because those colors are so dark
You must be able to add a file to your server and you can refer to this article : Changing Calendar Event Colors, which has instructions on adding the file with the color changes to your theme!
Pro Tip - Set it up first, to ensure you like it. This isn't super easy to change. (I did mine as a PTE Table)
No - We can't do more than ten colors.
Yes - Rackspace and Azure customers, we have to do it for you.
