Very important! Log on the webserver as the service account you choose to use in the IIS set up instructions. In my case, it was qa1. Therefore I am logged on the server as qa1 during this example. The reason for this is when the portal creates the databases in SQL, it will create them as whoever is logged on the server.
Run Expressways as an Administrator. Enter your community account information that you created in the Expressways set up instructions. In my example, I have my email listed.
Under the Identity tab, Enter in the service account information you created in the IIS set up.
Under The SQL tab, enter the server name. If you created a specific instance, then put the instance name after the server name. In my example, I created an instance named MSSQLSERVER01.
Click test connection. If you get a connection successful, then move on to the next step.
Leave the other two tabs as they are.
Choose the portal you are going to install and click ready to install. In my example, I'm installing Davidw2
Right-click the upper left corner on the screen and select none.
Select the framework version you want to install. In this example, I am installing version 7.1.2
If ASP.NET isn't green, go to services and start it.
Important!! Copy the top line and paste it in the second line, so they are both the same. If you created a data drive, then change the drive letter to the appropriate letter.
Enter your organization's information. Note, this information can be changed at any time inside the portal.
Enter you email server IP
Enter the URL for your new portal. In this example, it will be http://DW2, so all I need to enter is DW2
Leave this as "create accounts in the portal." We will set up Active Directory later.
Check the Ask for Credentials on the login page. Leave the rest blank. We will be working on that later.
Create an admin account. You can call it whatever you like. It is only needed to log in to the portal when windows auth is disabled. In this example, I am using portaladmin
The install should start now.
If you get this error, you missed the install full-text component during the SQL directions. See SQL setup for more information
Once the framework has installed, you will get this screen. Click next
Click finish on the next screen
Now we need to install the modules. Run expressways as an administrator again. Click next.
You will see that your install now says ready to update. During future updates, this is also how it will look. Click next
Click next again
The modules will start to install.
The portal has finished installing. We can now move on to the next steps for setting up windows authentication.
