Running Live Update
1. Log onto the portal server using a user with local administrator rights.
2. In your web browser, visit the LiveUpdate website.
3.
Windows Identity Foundation 3.5 is required to run LiveUpdate. Download and run the corresponding file for your server version.

- Windows Server 2008 R2 x64
Windows Installer 4.5 is required to run LiveUpdate. Download and run the corresponding file for your server version.

4. Running Live Update
-Click the Launch LiveUpdate link at the bottom. If it does not appear, make the following changes:
- For x86 systems or for 32-bit processes on x64 systems: Go to the HKLM/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/.NETFramework registry key and change the EnableIEHostingvalue to 1.
- For x64 systems or for 64-bit processes on x64 systems: Go to the HKLM/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/.NETFramework registry key and change the EnableIEHostingvalue to 1.
- Add to Trusted Sites list OR Run the following command on the application server:
- Navigate to c:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2.0.50727
- Run (without single quotes around command):
- 'caspol -quiet -machine -addgroup All_Code -site liveupdate.passageways.com FullTrust -name "Passageways_LiveUpdate" '
-Enter username and password.
-Browse for or enter Path to Portal Root & Path to Backups & Update Files
-Choose items to update, and then click next.
There is a product missing in my “Ready to Install” product list, what do I do? |
-Select the portal to update from the licensing drop down. Click Next.
Why is my portal not showing up in the Select License drop down? If the portal you are attempting to update is not visible in the drop down this is due to a clerical error on Passageways end. Please cancel your update and contact us immediately and we will resolve this for you immediately. |
Why is my test/board/vendor portal not showing up in the Select License drop down?
Similar to the issue above, this is most likely because we do not have a physical record indicating that you have a test / board / vendor portal. Please cancel your update and contact us immediately and we will resolve this for you immediately. |
-Review updates and click next when update status is “Ready”.
-Update will apply and if runs without errors will give you the option to open the log file and backups folder. View files or click finish to continue.
(NOTE: If while running Live Update, the update errors & begins to rollback the updates, contact Passageways)
If you receive the following error when running Live Update
This message is delivered due to your portal being disabled for use with Live Update when installing Portal Framework 4.9. If you still have products that need to be updated through Live Update, you should contact support@passageways.com immediately.
