Updated 12/4/19 - This is Currently NOT WORKING - Firefox has updated security and Windows Authentication currently is not working
One of the commonly-used setups for the Passageways Portal is to use Windows authentication with automatic login. This makes the portal open immediately once you open it. This works perfectly well in Internet Explorer and Chrome. Firefox has a hoop to jump through to set it up though, and it must be done on each machine firefox is opened on.
In the URL bar, type the following: about:config
This will bring up a warning window. Click on the I'll be careful, I promise! button to continue.
In the search bar, locate the following entry: network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trust-uris
Double click on it and enter the portal website name.
That is all that is necessary if you are Firefox v46 or newer.
If you are on Firefox v30-v45, please do the step below:
Locate the following entry: network.negotiate-auth.allow-insecure-ntlm-v1
Notice that by default, v1 is false and v1-https is true. For secure sites (https), you do not need to do anything because it is set to true. For a non-secure site (http), you will need to change the value of the v1 entry to true.
For OnSemble versions 6.0+:
Update each of these settings to these values:
|network.negotiate-auth.delegation-uris||your portal's URL|
|network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris||your portal's URL|
With these changes, you will be able to automatically login to your portal on Firefox.
If you are still having issues using Firefox, please contact our support staff. There may be a change that needs to be made to your web config, and we would be glad to assist that change.
