What is Live Editing?
Live Editing refers to the ability to open a document from the OnSemble documents folder, make a change to it and then simply click the save button of the application to save the changes back to the document in the folder. There are some requirements for you to use Live Editing. Please see the Document Management Guide for more information.
How to Enable/Disable Live Editing?
Navigate to the following path in the portal: Portal Tools > Manage Portal Documents > Configure
Document Repository > General Document Settings > "Enable Document Access" checkbox
This setting is enabled when you would like users in your organization to have the ability to Live Edit documents. Users must have edit permission by being either a writer or a viewer of a portal document in order to live edit.
**Important**
With the release of OnSemble 6.1, the release no longer supports Live Editing with Microsoft Office 2007. Users utilizing Microsoft Office 2007, with Live Editing enabled, will not be able to access documents within the portal. It should also be noted that Microsoft no longer supports version 2007. Please reference this link for more information on Microsoft Office support.
If users are utilizing MS Office 2007, Live Editing should be disabled in the portal for document access.
